| Description: | The Visiting Nurse Association of Pottstown & Vicinity is currently seeking a part-time Speech Language Pathologist to provide medically directed evaluation and therapy of speech to individuals of all ages. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will function under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, and supervise Home Health Aides in the care of particular patients. You will also be responsible to evaluate speech, language, swallowing and hearing of children and adults; administer treatment to clients in their own homes or other facilities, confer and consult with the staff nurses concerning individuals with speech, hearing and swallowing problems, and prepare evaluations, goals and plans for individual clients and families with periodic re-evaluation. You will be required to maintain records and reports, participate in scheduled conferences with the staff, participate in discharge planning and evaluation, provide for the special needs of the hospice client, and participate in the staff education programs. REQUIREMENTS Interested candidates should have thorough knowledge of phonetic analysis, speech and breathing musculature, psychology, mental hygiene, and anomalies of speech organs as they relate to the diagnosis and treatment of speech language. You should also have knowledge of swallowing and hearing problems, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individual clients, working associates and staff members, and ability to maintain client confidentiality. Interested candidates must have experience gained through graduation from a program that meets the requirements of the Federal Health Insurance for the Aged (Conditions for Participation) or been granted a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology or Audiology by the American Speech and Hearing Association. Must have a valid Professional License in the State of Pennsylvania Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s license, automobile insurance, available automobile during working hours and be able to drive in all types of weather. |
